The next version will be “more open and free,” according to the Google spokesperson.
“This is why we’re introducing a new feature that allows developers to publish their own apps on Google Play,” they added.
The news is good news for Android fans.
Developers can now make apps that take advantage of the open nature of the Android platform, and the next generation of Google’s mobile operating system is a lot more open and flexible than it was a few years ago.
Android 5.0 Lollipop was announced back in March, and while it’s not yet out for download, Google already had a new developer version available for pre-order.
