Construction has begun on the second phase of a $1.8 billion Texas mega-tower project that will provide new homes for the state’s biggest city, Dallas.
Construction started on the $1 billion Texas megaproject to build the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Tuesday, bringing a rush of construction into the Texas capital city as part of a nationwide boom that has propelled the state economy to record highs.
The airport project is the biggest project of its kind in the country, and the first of its size and scope to be constructed in Texas since the completion of a Texas-Mexico border wall in the 1990s.
The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in 2020 and includes 1,200 new homes and other residential structures.
Construction will be handled by construction giant W.R. Davis Construction.
The firm will handle all other phases, which are to be managed by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
For decades, the Dallas International Airport has been a major transportation hub for the city, which has a population of more than 3 million.
The airport will be used for commercial flights and major international trips.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said the airport is expected to bring up to 20,000 jobs and tens of thousands of visitors annually.
Dallas was once one of the nation’s most expensive cities to live in, but now, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment has fallen by 20 percent since the recession.
It is now only a few dollars more than the city’s average.
With the rise in rents comes an increased demand for housing, and Dallas has been working to build new housing for years.
But in the past, the city has struggled to attract new construction, because of a shortage of available land.
“We’ve been struggling with a housing shortage for a long time,” said David Tufano, director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Urban Design and Urban Policy Program.
Tufano said there is an even bigger problem with the state of Texas, because it has failed to build affordable housing for its population.
In a letter to Gov.
Greg Abbott, the Texas Development Finance Agency warned that the state is behind in housing and public safety, which he attributed to a lack of money.
Tufanos letter said the state needs to do more to provide affordable housing, expand job training, increase transportation and provide public services that create jobs, including access to health care and a public transit system.
The agency said it could also increase the amount of property tax revenues that would be used to support affordable housing.AUSTIN, Texas—A $3 billion project to build a new Texas airport has already started.

The state of the economy and how it affects Dallas is a critical part of the plans for the airport, said Chris Karp, vice president of development for W. R. Davis.
Karp said the city and county of Dallas will be responsible for any delays in building the airport and its related infrastructure.
But he added that the airport could be completed as early as 2022 if construction is completed on the first phase.
The first phase will involve building about 5,500 homes.
That would be the largest in Texas.
The Texas Department for Transportation and the Texas Railroad Commission have the authority to negotiate the contracts with private contractors and the state, Karp said.
There are more than 400 million square feet of development potential in Texas, but Karp predicted that in 20 years the size of the airport project will be about 5 times larger than the state now has, because the state has had more people than people can build housing and other infrastructure.
The new airport would be located about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, and it would be about a mile and a half from the current Texas International Airport, where a proposed airport is planned.
