What do people on the internet think of a new construction meme?
The meme is being used across the country to mock the government’s decision to axe the controversial Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, a program that gave households a rebate for electricity produced from renewable energy sources.
“I don’t want to be in a position of not having enough money to pay the bills, but I can’t afford to not have a roof over my head,” said Samuel B, a 19-year-old student from Birmingham, who has been involved in the construction meme.
The “construction” meme, which has been used on social media, has been seen more than a thousand times, and has been shared by people across the UK.
“The fact that I have to be homeless means I have no option but to do this,” said Sam.
Sam said he was not concerned about the effect on his family, because he was only using the hashtag to draw attention to the need for more affordable housing.
“I’m not going to go out and sell my house just to be able to afford to live in this house,” he said.
“It’s all about giving people an opportunity to buy a home.”
“A lot of people are saying that it’s about the cost of living, but it’s also about people’s mental health.”
Sam added that the hashtag has also been used to spread awareness about the importance of mental health.
“People are just saying, ‘I don,t want to see my mum, dad, sister, brother, cousin suffer.
I don’t have that option,'” he said.”
Brennan told the BBC that while the hashtag is popular, it was not meant to be used as a way to get people to vote.”
This is a social media platform, people have to feel empowered to use it in a way that is appropriate,” he told the broadcaster.”
There’s an enormous amount of social media out there and I think the real message of this is that we have to look at our actions, we have an obligation to think about what we’re doing as a society and we have a responsibility to ensure that we’re putting people in their place, rather than just seeing them suffer.
“Brenan said the use of the hashtag had become increasingly prevalent as it has been trending across social media.”
You’ve got people tweeting that they don’t feel they’ve been able to get a job and I’m like, ‘well, they’ve just had a few drinks’,” he said, adding that it was also becoming an issue on social issues forums such as Facebook.”
What we’re seeing is people are taking the opportunity to use this platform to raise awareness about a problem that is not really addressed in the social media community,” he added.”
And the fact that people are posting this as a kind of political statement is something that’s really important.
” He also said the construction memes had been spreading across social networks for months.”
We’ve been seeing it for quite a long time, we’ve seen it on Facebook for quite some time now, and it’s just taken off, I think because of the social platform and because of social engagement and how people are reacting to it,” he explained.”
So it’s sort of an extension of the political conversation that we’ve been having for a while.
